Getting Started with PixelMint

Five steps from an empty server to a fully working bot: invite it, accept the terms, set up channels, learn the prefix, and take the interactive tutorial. All five take about five minutes.

1. Invite PixelMint

Use the button below to open Discord's authorization screen. You'll need the Manage Server permission on the server you're adding it to.

Note

PixelMint registers its slash commands automatically as soon as it joins — there's nothing extra to enable. If commands don't show up immediately, try re-opening Discord's command picker (type /) after a few seconds.

2. Accept the Terms of Service

The first time anyone on your server uses a button, menu, or slash command, PixelMint replies with a private Terms of Service prompt instead of running the command. This is a one-time, per-person gate — once you accept, every command works normally for you from then on.

Why you'll see this first

The TOS check runs before anything else in the bot. If a command seems to "do nothing," check for a private (only-you-can-see-it) message first — that's almost always the TOS prompt waiting for a response.

You can read the full text any time with:

slash command
/tos

3. Set up your channels

Run the setup command to have PixelMint create a dedicated category and channel for itself, and to configure how it behaves on your server:

slash command
/setup

/setup opens a settings panel covering:

  • Channel creation — builds a category with a main hub channel.
  • Prefix — the text prefix used for non-slash commands (see below).
  • Appearance — pick an accent color for embeds, or set a custom one.
  • Economy & NLP toggles — turn chat-based coin earning or natural-language commands off if you'd rather everything go through slash commands only.
  • Notification channel — where level-up, rank-up and achievement messages get posted.

4. Understand the two ways to give commands

PixelMint supports both slash commands and classic prefix commands side by side:

/game slots

Slash commands

Type / and pick from Discord's built-in menu. Best for discoverability — every option is listed for you.

.slots 100

Prefix commands

Faster for regulars. Default prefix is shown in /setup and can be changed there at any time.

You can also just type naturally in chat — messages like "check my balance" or "show leaderboard" are understood without any prefix at all, as long as natural-language commands are enabled for your server.

5. Take the interactive tutorial

For a guided, click-through walkthrough of the bot's main systems, run:

slash command
/tutorial

It steps through the economy, games, AI chat, and customization options with example buttons you can actually click.

Getting help

slash / prefix
/help
help

Both open the same thing: a 19-section in-Discord guidebook covering close to 100 commands, with Search and Go to Page buttons so you never have to scroll through everything manually. Typing commands instead of help opens the same guidebook too.

Beyond that:

  • Per-system help — most individual systems have their own dedicated help, usually by running the command with nothing after it, or adding help — bank help, cardtheme (bare), auto help, welcome (bare), and so on. Each page in this documentation calls out that system's specific help command.
  • The support server — for anything the docs and in-bot help don't cover, or to report a bug.
  • Ask a Question — the link in the top bar of every page here sends a question straight through, no Discord needed.

Ask a question

Didn't find what you needed in the docs? Send a question directly.

Handled by FormSubmit — the very first question ever sent will trigger a one-time confirmation step.
